jaapvansanten@hetnet.nl I have more than 45 years pigeons. My real opening to the top of the pigeon sport was in 1972. I bought a couple of pigeons by Piet Verbart, Druten. He was owner of one of the best pigeons of Holland ever its legendary "46", son of Vechter/Witpenneke of the Klak, Reusel. Among the couple of Verbart pigeons was also a son of the "46". These pigeons form still the basis of the tribe.
MULTIPLE FIRST PRIZE WINNERS IN BIG COMPETION!
My tribe mother Nl 84-1090542 was direct from Nl79-1233856 the supercock "56" of Verbart. His sister was the superhen "55" of Jan Ouwerkerk. She is mother of my First lady Nl 94-2606230 with 9 first prices a top flyer. She formed the tribe cross-belt, from which a lot of top pigeons were grown with "Winddancer" many years.
My absolute tribe father is Nl 91-1654528 "Winddancer" winner of 8 first prices. He was in 1993 the 3e champion Vitesseduif of Holland (WHZB). Its father ends up Nl 85-764055 a son of the tribe mother "42" and its mother Nl 82-2198836 comes from two direct Janssen, Arendonk pigeons. Line grote stier/blauwe roodoger.
In the middle of nineteen years were the performances of the children of the tribe pigeons extraordinary good. As from that moment I have decided to buy annual 1 or 2 pigeons. Main point thereby is that their parents and grandparents had won first prices and/or were ash-pigeons. I don’t believe in "race, pedigree or physical marks" The performances are decisive. This has conducted up to on the day of up to a super vital and strongly performing tribe pigeons. On some a time a yolk cure and the obligatory Paramyxo injection are administered no medicines or a veterinary surgeon visited.
I am a votary of all day flights. My 20 cross-belts old pigeons make about 20 fights per year in a total system: cocks and hens (so called total- widowhood). They are basket in principle each week. Beside the so-called speed flights, I have a craze for the flight from 500 till 650 km. Because of total-widowhood I always play cross-belts on the same flight. I generally start the young pigeons flights with approximately 40 youngsters. The breeding loft exist from 12 cross-belts. Meanwhile a lot of votaries have succeeded in within Holland and foreign countries with my pigeons.

- 3rd National ace champion Middle Distance of Arnold van Zwam with “van Santen” blood.
- 8th National Short Distance Champion Hein Oetelaar is succeeded with van Santen pigeons!
- 1st Overall Champion Afdeling 8 GOU in 2004; E van der Horst, Harderwijk is very successful with these pigeons!
In 2004 was Jaap with his Nl 2004-1693006 participant of the Thailand World Champion. This pigeon was very successful with the 5th place Sukaothai (310km) and the 16th place of the final flight from Lumpang (480 km)
Also in 2004 was Jaap with the Nl 2004-1693003 participant of Hungarian One Lof. This pigeon won the 1e price of the official fight Szekesfehvar.
